Microflights has been operating from Finmere Aerodrome, near Buckingham, England, since May 2002, offering introductory trial flights and pilot training courses leading to the UK's National Private Pilot's Licence (Microlights). We are fortunate to have the use of a 700 metre tarmac runway - the remains of a WW2 bomber airfield - with wonderful open countryside in which to fly.

For those having their first trial flight with us, you'll experience a fantastic range of views as we take you on your aerial tour.  And for those who want to learn to fly one of these wonderful machines, we are the only flight training facility working out of Finmere and therefore we very often have the aerodrome to ourselves - that way you get the maximum benefit from your training hours.

From Northampton and M1 Southbound

From M1 Junction 15 (Northampton) take A508 south ("Stony Stratford") or from Northampton ring road (M1 Junction 15A) take A43 to Towcester and then A5 south. At Old Stratford roundabout (A508/A5 junction) take A422 to Buckingham.  Follow ring road (A421) south and west round Buckingham until you reach a stretch of dual carriageway.  About a quarter of a mile along the dual carriageway (just beyond the second bridge over the road), take the FIRST LEFT TURN (signed "Weighbridge", "Barton Hartshorn", "Chetwode" and "Finmere Mill").  The airfield gate is 500 metres on the right (signed "Finmere Mill").  Please drive across to where the cars are parked.

From Milton Keynes and M1 Northbound

From M1 Junction 13 (Milton Keynes) take A421 west ("Buckingham").  Follow A421 all the way round Buckingham ring road until you reach a stretch of dual carriageway.  About a quarter of a mile along the dual carriageway (just beyond the second bridge over the road), take the FIRST LEFT TURN (signed "Weighbridge", "Barton Hartshorn", "Chetwode" and "Finmere Mill").  The airfield gate is 500 metres on the right (signed "Finmere Mill").  Please drive across to where the cars are parked.

From Oxford, Banbury and M40

Leave M40 at Junction 10.  Take the A43 ("Northampton").  At the large roundabout with the A421/B4031, take the A421 east ("Buckingham").  At the Finmere roundabout, continue on the A421 ("Buckingham"), which turns into a stretch of dual carriageway for about a mile.  Continue to the next roundabout, then double-back onto A421 westbound.  About a quarter of a mile along the dual carriageway (just beyond the second bridge over the road), take the FIRST LEFT TURN (signed "Weighbridge", "Barton Hartshorn", "Chetwode" and "Finmere Mill").  The airfield gate is 500 metres on the right (signed "Finmere Mill").  Please drive across to where the cars are parked.
